So, the first day of school started and over the course of the next few weeks the excitement, anticipation, anxiety, and fear start to make their rounds in the heads of your children and you even. Stopping these thoughts is nearly impossible as all of us SPD mom's know once our child gets locked into an idea or start to think a specific way you'll have to move mountains to get that one negative thought out!

I could say i have all kinds of tools for you to use and help ya get through the tough first few days, weeks, a month or so of adjustment BUTI do not. this isn't 100% the reason for my blog actually. This is more of the parent and how to assist YOU and your thinking to get YOU through their thoughts.

remember if YOU can stay in control when their control runs out the door they can see how they should eventually respond to disappointing or anxious moments. They're just that, moments! Its a moment in time.

If you lay out a roll of toilet paper and say "take out the 10th and the 34th piece of the roll" what do you have?

An inconsistent roll of toilet paper?! yes, non the less its now a challenging roll of toilet paper to roll back up but its still going right back in the bathroom, Right! But if you think of your moments in that way life is not as horrible when you can break down a moment.

A moment is one event in your history.

I have been listening to an incredible podcast called "Bold New Mom" by Jodie Moore.

She's phenomenal and thankfully i was able to be open and ready for change when i stumbled across her podcasts.

She is uplifting yet REAL, and by real i mean podcast topics she has are TRUTH and HOPE. Its out of LOVE and such a safe place. Thus why she has grown and flourished.

Those moments i listen to her podcasts are amazing because I can build my brain! I give it a work out BUT this also allows me to level out my emotions and have a clearer head when I take the few moments and really LISTEN to her words.

I know that I will be a better mom when i focus on me for a few moments and nurture myself!
