We cure the weekly business by taking a break on Saturdays OR, the general idea of "not doing anything on Saturday" is what i always wish to happen....
Doesn't this day decide the line up for next week?! It should be the relaxing day
or, the day to get caught up on "SELF" but for me i feel its a day that
i just try to get ALLL the things done. (Palm smack to the head). Like a silly mom, i'm working on the concept of self care and what that is to me! How do I revive my weary body and soul? With this being said Saturdays are battle days if im not careful!
Big intentions and the crash of those intentions do not bring rest and rejuvenation to me or the other family members.
"S-E-R-I-O-U-S-L-Y Please! now my children are screaming and loosing their ever loving minds all over the living room floor because of these blind bags and extra special rare choking hazard toys!"
Yesterday I was thinking smart and wanted to try and make play dough... My kids LOVE Playdoh - but they go through it so quickly i've not had time to get more.
Desperation set in and I decided to try the age old recipe,
flour, salt, cream of tarter, boiling water mixture, Every elementary teacher
i bet gets this in their Welcome to teaching 101 class!
Didn't fool my sensitive kids and they aren't having anything to do with it
(insert the Pull out hair moment).
In my sheer desperation to get children off the screen, is why i tend to pull out the table activities thus salty playgoo and cookie cutters.
At this point in the day You Tube Battle has typically peaked and
I wanna hit a mother for putting her child on her You Tube channel
while she throws toys at them saying "Open the next one!".
As if that mom just smothers their child in toys.
Like, seriously! S-E-R-I-O-U-S-L-Y Please! now my children are screaming and loosing their ever loving minds all over the living room floor because of these blind bags and extra special rare choking hazard toys. End rant, Sorry.
Like most parents, I WANT to promote outside play time. This is the challenge, the mental fatigue challenge, the physical challenge, the challenge that -parents- have to push past to get through, even themselves, to encourage Sensory play. Real play! So, with all this in mind the squishing, pulling, tearing of the home made dough is an awesome release of emotions! Its an amazing concentration time for my kids too.

Baking & Spices
4 tsp Cream of tarter
2 cups Flour
3/4 cup Salt
Oils & Vinegars
2 tbsp Vegetable oil
Liquids
2 cups Water boiling - microwave for 4ish minutes
